Standbridge Community Centre is certainly a unique centre compared to any other community space within the Wakefield district. Our strengths include the size of the building, our permanent library, free parking and a great deal of outdoor space.

Standbridge Community Centre is seen as a centre of excellence for sustainable community development. Community leaders actively engage with local residents to raise issues around loneliness and the need to reduce isolation.

The committee has worked tirelessly over the past few years to make Standbridge Community Centre one of the most engaging community hubs across the district. A successful asset transfer from Wakefield City Council saw the old Standbridge Lane Primary School turn into a sustainable community development project ran by local volunteers.
